Includes a free Ilford Obscura Camera and pack to take home! £149.99
Pinhole Photography is one of the most basic forms of photography. It’s magical, mystical and powerful, it awakens your creativity, it doesn’t rely on lenses, batteries or any form of technology.
The Pinhole itself is laser cut so as to enable the best quality images. The Camera is supplied with instructions and transfers which may be applied to the camera or left off if preferred.
I have been shooting black and white film now for over 30 years and in 2012 was approached by Ilford Photo to become one of their Analogue Artisan Partners to teach film photography and of course to spread the word about this wonderful medium of photography, so you can rest assured that you are in safe hands. I keep my pinhole darkroom workshops to a very small group, a maximum of four people, allowing plenty of one to one time with me.
Workshop content and what you’ll learn:
This is a practical workshop which is probably the best way to learn this form of photography. You will be given the Ilford Obscura Camera and pack to work with and will be able to take it home at the end of the workshop.
So what’s included:
- The Obscura pinhole camera
- 10 Sheets Ilford Delta 100 4×5″ Film
- 20 Sheets Ilford Multigrade 4×5″Paper
- Exposure Calculator
We’ll start at 10am with refreshments on arrival and after a short introduction the group (maximum 4 people) will be out and about in the Victorian seaside town of Saltburn. We’ll shoot a few sheets of the Ilford Delta 100 4×5″ film or paper. You’ll learn how to assess the correct exposure using a hand held light meter and the exposure calculator as consistency of achieving the correct exposure every time is paramount.
Then it’s back to the studio and into the darkroom where you will learn about what chemicals to use and how to mix and use them to process your exposed sheets of film or paper. I’ll show you how to produce a contact sheet. During your time in the darkroom you will gain a greater understanding of what can be achieved using different chemistry timings and temperature.
We use only the very best Ilford chemistry in our workshops.
This workshop would make a great gift for the photographer in your life so if you would like to buy as a gift please get in touch and I can organise a gift voucher for you..
